re-build or crate motor?
I have a 96' GT w/84,000 hard miles, the motor is tired. should I re-build it w/performance parts or buy a crate motor? Where is a good place to find a 2v or 4v crate motor? budget - less than $5,000

you wont find a crate motor for less that 5K unless its used. Personally I'd go to VT engines get a rotating assembly (forged) and rebuild it from there with some PI heads and cams and intake. Or you could find a wrecked 99-04 GT and swap motors and such. Just my .02
