you should find a grommet and punch a hole through it big enough to run your wires, just be careful not to punch through any wires when you are doing it.

you can if you want but the way that we do it at my job is that we strip the wire back and then we poke a hole through the bare wire, not cutting them, just opening them up, then take whatever you are trying to hook up strip the end back and slip it through the opening and wrap it around the wire and tape it up and you are done.

that sure is one crazy way to splice two wires together. Never heard of that method. Learn somethin new every day, thanks

you can either go to the fuse box to get your power or you can go to the ignition harness. I believe that you would have to take off the part of the dash under your steering column and then there will be a metal plate that you will need to take off then just look for the wires that are leading to your ignition cylinder and use those wires. Here are the wires that you will be looking for.

12volts constant (for memory)- Yellow wire at ignition harness
Ignition (if you want your guages to come on whenever you start the car)
- Tan/White at ignition harness
Parking lights (if you want your guages to only come on when you turn on your lights) - Brown behind drivers kick panel (make sure you test the wire)
