yes the PI intake already has ONE tap. You need to either drill and tap, or bring to machine shop with sensor.

Silicone... i used a tube of toyota FIPG. Its oil resistance and coolant.

As for power, i havent dyno'd but i can honestly say i diidnt gain a single tenth in the 1/4. I dont know how its possibly cause this thing pulls wicked in the top end compaired to ealier.

Does ford have some sort of silicon I could use or would getting this silicon from Toyota work better? I can get it if I need to I am just wondering so I dont have to make a trip to both dealers! Thanks

i havent found any ford silicone that i liked. I use the grey stuff on diff covers and such with oil. But nothign for coolant. The toyota stuff i found works well on coolant/oil.

BTW: The Cams are going in on Saturday.

Casper do you happen to know the part number on the coolant tube? I was just at the dealer and we couldnt find the part! They also did not know the difference between NPI and PI. Thanks! And glad to hear the cams are going in this saturday!

Just got a little info for the PI cams in a rather stocker T-bird with a NPI 4.6....
I picked up 13 rwhp/18 ft-lbs with the cams by themselves.
Also found this dyno print out of some dude with PI cams and PI intake on a NPI car. Mine dyno;d at 188 with no mods.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...51_15_full.jpg

Approx 41hp to the wheels, but that with other mods.

'98 GT: '02 PI cams and PI intake, Bassani X w/cats, FRPP SS Catback, Steeda Pullies Tri-Ax and Chrome Moly STB, Densecharger TB pipe, 1.25" rear wheel adapters, Bullitt Shift Knob & Pedals, K&N w/no silencer, Bullitt Springs & Shocks, 3:90 Motive gears w/Trick Flow rear girdle, 180 deg t-stat
SAE HP 229.2 / TQ 276.7
Im at 226 and 302ish right now with cams. I dunno what this guy is doing wrong.

Another question casper! I am on the phone right now with ford parts and the 99-01 gaskets have a different part number than the 02-04 gaskets! The 02-04 are are 30 a piece and the 99-01 are 15 a piece. Do i have to go with the 02 gaskets since my intake is from a 02? Thanks!

Sorry for all the questions! But will I need to get a new gasket between the plenum and the intake? Or can I reuse my NPI or use the old PI? Thanks! I dont know what I would do with out you casper!

Real quick, John ( ujustlost ) The lobe clostest to the cam gear looks to be approx. 55.50mm

Matt - Get the 02 gaskets. I dont see why the intake gasket would be different. But just get the 2002 gaskets to fit youre intake. Also the PI intake has a small blue ring kinda gasket in the intake. Get a new one if the intake is used. If its new it comes with one.

Npi gasket is bulky and black plastic, PI gasket is small thin blue ring type.

Check that out

I dont understand why they would be different, but I will compair the two and see if I see any difference between the 02 gaskets and the 99-01 gasket! Thanks!

because they have left sides and right sides. 02-04 are same on both sides you just reverse them to make them fit.

So can I use the 99-01 gaskets if the only difference is that they are left and right and not I fits all?

does anyone know where the common places for cracks in the intake manifolds r. I've seen a picture up once or twice but couldn't find it again. My coolant is leaking out of the passenger side rear of the maniold by the firewall. it appears to be leaking where the hose joins the manifold.

It normally cracks in the front of the motor where the tube that goes from the radiator to the intake. That is why the newer NPI and PI intakes have the aluminum coolant crossover!
