96 GT wont start
Alright well i was out with my friends and i left my car for my g/f to drive home from work and i would get it later. Well when she called me after she got off work she told me that it wouldnt start....so i went up there and sure enough it dont start i turn the key and i Clicks and thats it, we tried to jump it but that didnt do anything and besides that the battery meter was saying it had plenty of juice. Does this sound like my cylenoid or my starter? thanks for anyones opinions...o and btw it usually takes me two times at turning the key to get it to start...

Sounds like its a battery to me. Jiggle the wires and see if it starts. If not jump it again. It could be the starter, because you said it ususally takes two times to get it to fire, that would be my best guess.

Normally the clicks are a dead battery, even with a jump it is possible that it is that dead. I had an optima yellow top in my 73 Mustang and it died, stone dead. I tried jumping it, trickle charging it etc...nothing. changed the battery and all is good. It sounds like you have the same issue. Battery is just past dead.
Hope that's all it is. Cheap test, pull a battery from another car just to test and if that's the case, then replace it. |

check all your wires. My best guess would be that something is loose. Check all your grounds, and then check the wire going to the starter. Loosen up that one and then retighten it down in a different position. Good luck and then my next thing to do is put a trickle on it and if that doesnt work get a new starter.
