superchips 1725 error 8


i have a 98 mustang and i keep getting an error 8, i pulled the fuel pump fuse and the radio fuse just in case but i still keep getting this error any ideas? thanks all

The fuel pump fuse you are pulling is disabling the computer as well. Put the relays back in and look in the back of your Mustang’s owners manual for a fuel pump cut off switch located in the trunk behind the drivers tail light. If you remove the wiring harness from that switch you will safely disable the fuel system. When you are done just re-insert the harness in the switch and you are good to go

apparently my car has a 99 fuse block and wiring in it be cause it doesnt match the 94-98 but is the same as a 99. the reader wont work with the fuse in place for the pump it stops and tells me it has to be removed. i called superchips and they have no idea what to do they said to take it back for a refund. that doesnt sound too good if thats what they say to do.

Alot of the times the fuse blocks in the manuals are wrong. I know my fuse block doesnt match the one in my owners manual or the Workshop manual at my work. But the 96-97 one matches.... and the 99 one doesnt match.

im going to take a look at the computer this weekend because according to the calibration code on the door jamb it is a 99. I also found out i have a tremac 3650 under looking up at the undercar and low and behold a drain on the tranny. feakin sweet

Check the motor, maybe you have a pi motor as well... haha

haha ....no, but i do have 03 4.6 that i got from one of our delivery vans that decided to have a fire in the cargo bay,( no damage to the engine bay) cheap. so that will be going in this summer hopefully. im not sure how to explain these things any idea? calibration codes, and tranny,
