weird noise coming from my motor during initial warm up

when i cold start my car i'm hearing an odd noise coming from the drivers side of the motor. the noise is very speratic and its triggered different ways. if i rev it a little the noise becomes louder and when the rpms start to drop, the noise goes away, until the rpms level off at the idle. also the noise is present when in gear and motion. when i step down on the clutch to shift the noise goes away, but comes back when i go into gear. the noise goes away when the car is fully warmed up.

Also my coolant lite flickers on n off but i checked the levels and everythings ok. could it just be time to flush the system?

by the way the cars a 96 GT 4.6 5spd with 63,500 miles

could be the timing chain tensioners. They work off oil pressure. Could also be lash adjusters. Could also be the normal head tick noise. Hard to say

Coolant light could be a sticky sensor.

i have the same problem with the coolant light, and i just had to get used to it, my local shop said it was in fact 90% chance of a sticky sensor like what casper said

Just take off the overflow ( degas bottle ) and put a cleaner in it or straight water and shake it around a while. Run water through it and put coolant back in it.

also i don't have n owners manual and my mechanic happens to be color blind, so it's basically the dumb leading the blind sometimes. we went to flush the coolant in my car and we weren't able to tell what color the antifreeze is. Where pretty sure it was green but it was so nasty we couldn't tell. Im sure someone on this site knows the correct color antifreeze to use.

It sounds like a bearing on one of your pullies is bad. Its a screeching noise! Good luck

I am sorry man, I was describing the Throw out bearing noise. Do not change your pullies. Is the noise a screeching noise really high pitched? If so then most like likey it is your Throw Out bearing. To get this fixed you will have to drop the tranny and unbolt your bellhousing. Once that is done inside of your bell houseing is your throw out bearing.

My 98 GT has the exact symptoms that you're describing (high-pitched squeak/screech). The noise only happens when the clutch pedal is not pressed. When I press in the clutch the noise goes away. Does this sound like the throw out bearing?

when I press my clutch pedal the squeeking, screeching, sound quits, but when Im sitting at idle in N no clutch pressed it makes those noises. im sure it does it all the time, but when i got the tranny in a gear and moving i just cant hear it for the engine or the exhaust. Its pretty loud when i warm it up in the mornings

Yep, that's what I'm getting too. I've been told that it's the throw out bearing, and while I'm in there I may as well do the clutch and pressure plate. I've decided to go for a Spec Stage 1 kit.

so how do i go about changing the throwout baring. Should I just have new clutch installed or is there something else involved in this process?
