compression


compression ratio q's? what is the best way to get your compression ratio down ? i plan on adding a kenne bell s/c sometime this summer.obviously there is alot involved with a project like this but i have gotten many different angles from so many different people that i dont know which way to turn.money really isnt a huge issue.any suggestions?how do i get my compression down to say 8 ?

if you have a totally stock 1998 GT, dont need to worry about compression. If you add the 1.7 or the new 2.1 bigbore KB to it you will be fine. If you have the PI coinversion which makes it 10.5:1 then you will need new pistons and if youre going KB make sure you do forged internals while youre at it.

yeah i was just looking at the kb 2.1 big bore last night, im not looking to push massive amounts of boost. probably somewhere around 9 psi.the engine enternals are basically stock.im looking at trying to get my car to about 380 rwhp. the 4.6 is a new engine to me since all i have owned was 5.0's.my 2000 was a 4.6 but got totaled before i had a chance to do any big engine mods.thanks for the info.
