i have a tapping sound that sounds like its comming from the driverside.
its loudest when the car is at idle or the rpm's are comming down. not at high rpm's. i took it to a dealer and they said i need to replace the canister purge silinoid. that is what the check engine light ment anyway.
i only drive it about once a month so taking time to work on it isnt a problem. any ideas.

Yeah i think i have to do the same thing man! I pulled a code P1443 and i think it might be the same thing u need. wich I have no clue where it is or how hard it is to instaull

i have had 3 other mustangs they were all 302's so the mod motor is new to me im not going to yank the motor apart without having an idea whats wrong. so im hoping someone has an idea.

I too have the same problem with to me sounds like a ticking noise behind the passenger side fire wall. The sensor is a brass cylinder about the size of a film canister with an inlet and outlet across the top and an electrical connector on the bottom. it can be found in the fuel vapor lines running in the passenger side rear corner of the engine bay above the air conditioner accumulator tank. The dealerships sells this purge sensor for about 75.00.
