Ok, 1997 GT. You replaced the leaky intake im guessing.

Things to think about.... did you replace the injector o-rings?> Maybe its leaking. A torn gasket you didnt replace? Are you throwing any kinda codes, such as a lean misfire or rich codes? Or are you throwing any sort of misfire codes p0300, p0301... ect.

Did you check all youre plugs? and wires? Has it ever misfired?

Casper

check plugs and wires, I had water in my spark plug holes as a result of prepping / cleaning the head which caused a miss on acceleration but idled it great

it's rather obvious why these old posts are being bumped I'll explain it in one word " NEWBIES" HOW IT WORKS, if you JUST bought a mustang and it happens to be messing up, you google the problem and since this site comes up in searches under specific problems the "searchie" may want to ask a question but to do so he/she has to sign up to ask his specific question.

see? old thread for you but new thread for the new guy

as for too much time on one's hands, isn't bitching about an old thread being bumped sort of the same as saying i have a boring life or no life outside of the computer?

hmmm.

well you can use gauze down the holes to soak the coolant out. and the rest that is in the acutal motor, shouldnt be any, just down the plug holes, will burn off. Also dry off the boot with compressed air!

well i unplugged the batt and my check engine turned off but it still idles high 1500rpms. I also pulled the boots out and they were dry but with three cylinders misfiring wouldn't the rpms be low instead.
