Synthetic will work just fine. I would recomend Royal Purple.

Mobil 1 full syn. , Royal purple,Redline,Amsoil are all good oils
5-30 weight is also what you should stick with.If you care about your car you should use synthetic since it will free up a little HPand help gas mileage

I've been using Royal Purple for years. It's great stuff.

Definitely a full synthetic. Just also ensure that you don't flop back and forth between a full synthetic and a partial synthetic. Be consistent.

I've heard elsewhere that you're not supposed to flipflop back and forth between synthetic and regular oil. Does anyone know the actual reason why that is?

This is sort of a myth. But nevertheless I really recommend running an engine cleaner before switching to synthetic - just to get an added improvement when the synthetic gets put in.

Personally, I love Amsoil. Not just for oils, but for filters, cleaning solvents, various gasoline/coolant/oil additives. Good stuff. Pricey, like Royal Purple and Mobil One, but good good stuff.
