Traction Control?

I am just wondering if use 96-98 have traction control? I sure hope not, but it seems that when ever I get my revs up high and dump the clutch my tires do not spin. I could get my tires to spin with some old falken tires and an old clutch, but know that I got my new Nitto 555s that now probably have 400 miles on them as well as before I got my new Clutch which probably has around 35-400 miles on it I cannot get it to squeal or anything. I regret getting the King Cobra clutch! I wish Casper would have told me not to in my clutch post but what is done is done. It seems that instead of my tires spinning my clutch is slipping because everytime I do this I can smell my clutch. Are the Nittos gripping that well or is it the clutch that is faulty or put in incorrectly?

Have someone stand out side next to you. If you can rev it to 3500 and sidestep the clutch and not go anywhere and youre tires dont spin....you could very wlel have a slipping clutch. Who ever put it in may have not machined the flywheel, or gotten somethign on it. Im not sure. But doesnt sound good.

and no they didnt have traction

Sounds like a bad install. But you sure scared me away from going with King Cobra now. Like what Mr. Casper said, that doesn't sound good... especially if you can smell the clutch - pretty good indicator right there.

yeah well I got a brand new flywheel put in and everything else was new. What do you mean by side stepping the clutch? And when I do let the clutch out at 4000 RPM I will start to move, but at that rpm I should have no problem getting my tires to atleast squeal.

Certainly sounds like a slipping clutch, hence the smell. It could also be the clutch fork setting too. Do you have much play in the pedal? Either way you should never smell the clutch or tranny at all.

Well I got the fork replaced too. Hopefully I can get to the top of this. Is it a possiblity that my tires have to much grip?

Well I have got to wait until Monday to try anything out because I am going out of town. Maybe I might beable to use my sisters camera and take a video of it doing it aswell. And what do you mean by to much play? How much should I have, because I think that this might be my problem.
