My wish list

Okay so I am going to try and attach a picture of my wishlist of mods. This is very far in the future unless I get my dad to fund most of it. But let me know what you think, and no I am not going to go 4V. I like the challenge of getting big horspower numbers out of a 2V. I might add some spray on there eventually. Thanks and let me know what you think and which block I should go with thanks!

I'm going to make a suggestion having 20psi of boost or 500rwhp is great, losing to a car that has 200 less horsepower that has a suspension that makes car hook = huge bummer. I spent a whole summer eating supercharged gt's 03/04 cobra's, ls1-2 cars and spent half that money.

P.I. swap, ported heads, custom cams, accufab upper, 70mm t body, jlt cold air, 4:10 gear , tubular k frame ,lakewood 90/10 struts, moroso drag springs (rear) Lt headers, hpm mega bite jr. lca's, 15x 8 welds with e/t streets and some weight reduction. Mid 12 second car all day.

Build the car for the engine, you do not need more power to be faster(when not applied right), you just need to get it to the ground. Start from the back and work forward your gains feel more worth the money as you begin to make more power. The car (96 gt)I am helping a buddy with is a prime example: Rear suspension, J mod ,3000 stall , frame ties , tubular k frame u/d pullies and a P.I intake on 16" Kumo's. Pulls 4 cars on most 99-02 from a dig. I Do not like street racing but was impressed lack of wheel spin. Just food for thought.... Free advice LOL

Very well put indeed. Starting from the ground up, and the rear forward, is an excellent way to make power get to the ground, quickly. A high output engine is nice but spinning your tires half way down the track is not.

Yeah well my suspension as of now is Eibach Proline kit and factory rear shocks and factory struts. I figured I wouldnt put my suspension mods on the list but I will put them on there.

One very important part of this equation I see missing is a Spec Clutch and an aluminum drive shaft and drive shaft safty loop. The drive shaft is a very weak link often over looked. Especially if your gonna use forced induction. And the loop well thats just safety for yourself and your car.

Well the clutch is not added because well I just got a King Cobra Piece of crap and will be changing it out once it wears out which from what I have heard is about 7000-10000 miles. And the aluminum drive shaft will be replaced when it breaks and the saftey loop will go on there once everything else is done, which probably will never happen being I am 15 without a job and dont have my parents support on this at this point, but I am working on them everyday. I just wish I had that type of money instead of doing all of this in steps.

You know that Eibach kits does not count, I was reffering to adjustable upper and lower conrtol arms..... That is why I suggestested doing things the right way, you are 15 and you have the chance to learn from some who has been buildig race cars from before you were born ,lol. Everyone needs to learn one thing very important, do not believe what you read in car magazines ( THESES FALSE NUMBERS THEY PRINT ARE PAYED FOR MANUFACTURERS, THAT IS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY). With that said my tired old monkey ass is going back to bed lol.

waiting for a drive shaft to break and putting in a safetly loop , could be asking for disater or death man. if your running the 31 spline set up, and putting alot of power to the ground the drive shaft IS gonna break

I totally agree that most people over look a hoop as well. 9 out 10 people do not have the power the break a new u joint. My stock driveshaft took 100's of 6200 launches(with slicks) in a season and never broke a u joint, not that it makes it ok that I was lucky(I did run a safty loop just in case).

I have recently been through a wish list similar to yours. and here is what i learnd. Figure in an extra 1k to cover any unforseen type stuff, hoses, belts, IAC, and so on. also you should realize that the block that is in your car is perfectly up to handeling your power goals. So save the 1500 and reuse your block. If your worried about the weight then get a tubular k-member, hell get it anyway as it will make it worlds easyier to work on down the road. Trust me mid- full lenght headers make it VERY hard to get at anything! also think mini starter and or header wrap and starter wrap, as the heat from those headers will mess with your starter (mine would not start hot, had to wait till it cooled. I have less than 1 quarter inch clearence header to starter selinoid) Also make sure you have the nessery fuel system for what you wanna run, with out it you will hit a bottle neck when tuning and that IS very frustrating. Tuning is expencive so make sure and consider that when your budgeting. The most important thing is reserch you cant do enough of it and it is the only way to minimize extra cost on a built. DONT GO INTO ANYTHING BLIND. And have fun cause thats really what it is all about.
