If its RPM related its the tranny

The rear would be more speed related.

My old work truck was a hemi durango and it did that. they took it in and supposedly it was a band. i had it another 2 months and it started doing a squelch every time it was full throttle shift. they don't give to much descriptive to us so thats about all i could think of not having to much info on autos. they retired that unit. i now have a 10 Expedition.

I used to have a 98 gt auto that did that. I never had any tranny problems with it though. It would only do it if you were getting on it hard. It was like a 2-3 second screech then it would hit the next gear and you were gone.

Maybe just change the fluid and filter see if that helps

its normal in a auto, says ford lol. its doing it in my Expedition its the auto clutches slip a little when they shift at high rpm if you had a shift kit it would shift faster and wouldnt do it.
