My gas mileage has gone up some how

I got like 25 more miles out of my tank this fill up. I usually get 200 per tank.
Driving conditions during this tank were:
1. Took it to the dragstrip last sunday and beat on it.
2. 80 miles round trip to drag strip with 5 ppl in the car
3. Beat on it a little more this week than usual, since its been a shitty
week at work. (poor car takes my aggression and loves it!)
4. I removed the airfilter housing at the track sunday.

Seems like I should have lost a ton of milage this week, but I think taking that filter housing off helped a BUNCH!

Jesus really only 200 miles? I could stretch mine to 325 if I wanted to but usually fill 'er up around 300 miles into a tank.

yeah around town thats about all i can get, never tried to drive it normal like my explorer and not beat on it for a whole week

i only got like 190 ish too, but since it got warmer i got like 250 last tank?

Engines like cold weather better. More hp produced via less dense air. But if you're like me, now you don't have to run around with the a/c on all day long, so it does help gas mileage.

Chris, I get roughly 20mpg too - unless I'm at the track

Damn I wish my car got that good all the time. I can get 26 on the highway runnin 90 but other than than runnin round town I average around 12 puttin me at about 200 to the tank. I do run it hard though, its hard not to when you have the ability ( and need!) Ya know?

yeah it's tough not to get on it, but I've kept tickets off my record for awhile now, and plan on keepin it that way.

On another note, I took my 17year old lil bro out for a drive today and taught him what burnin' rubber smells like.

My work's parking lot is HUGE and deserted on Sundays so I like to leave a little somethin for my boss to see come Monday, lol.
