fuel injectors

So I found a good deal on some 24lb injectors. The question is will 24lb injectors that came from a cobra fit my 98 GT without modification? Will I have to change anything like my maf or tune or ignition items?
Heres a pic of them just to show you

thoughs are ev1 injectors. ev1 is a direct swap. Cobras use ev6 style injectors. you will need adaptors to make them work.

you will need a tune to make big injectors work, the pcm controls the time in which an injector is open. so a higher flow injector will flow more fuel during the same amount of time as a lower injector. Your pcm needs to be calibrated that or get a MAF that is for 24lb injectors. I have an extra MAF from a 96-98 Cobra that is calibrated for 24 lb injectors so you can swap 24lb directly in if you are interested.

Sweet. Is there anyway to know 100% if they are direct. Im not doubting you I just am careful about spending money on things. I would rather get the right ones the first time. and modularmustang I am interested in the MAF. PM me please with the cost. Are MAF's calibrated for more than fuel injectors?

one transform function per MAF, the 19lb maf will work with 19lb unless you change your tune in the pcm with a flash tuner. Ill PM you with the details on the MAF tomorrow.

keep your stockers and when you need injectors do 42's or 60's

Any of those injectors shown will fit your car. I have heard of using larger injectors with a MAF that is "calibrated" to that # injectors, but from what I've read, if you start straying too far from the original size injectors, the PCM will not be able to handle it as efficiently. 19lb/hr to 24lb/hr is not too big of a jump so you may be able to get away with it.

The BEST way is to leave your MAF alone (unless you need the flow) and have the PCM tuned to the correct injector flow rate.

The connector was thesame for the 5.0L and the earlier (pre 05) 4.6's. The connector is called the "minitimer" connector.

I also agree that 42lb/hr or 60's would be a better upgrade. they are just about the same price, but leave you lots of overhead for future mods, so you don't have to buy injectors again.

only buy 42lb+ when your going to use FI or Nitrous. Getting bigger then 24 or 30 while N/A is pointless as it getts very hard to tune for lower rpm with higher flow injectors. Like I said before the pcm controls the flow my pulsing the injector. So for a 19lb injector at idle its open for x milliseconds, but with a 60lb injector its cut down to 1/3 of that time.

So even if you plan on something larger in the future you should wait to install the 42lb+ injectors til you install your FI or else you will have a hell of a time dailing in the lower end.

i heard wet puddles in the intake since the intake is designed for air. I dont know nitrous very well though... i heard the plate is better then the nozzle anyways, haha
