clutch issue / throwout bearing retainer?

so ive got an oem replacement clutch on my 96 with around 10k miles or so. added an aluminum quadrant and firewall adjuster. kept the stock cable. ive noticed recently that my car doesnt "grab" quite like it used to. i wasnt sure if it was the added suspension work while i was doing my headswap (full length subframe connects, upper and lower control arms) but it doesnt quite chirp the tires like she used to. playing around with the firewall kinda helps, but nothing spectacular. the other day when driving to class i pulled out of my subdivision in first as usual, but felt something bump my left foot as i started going. the clutch pedal actually came up from underneath my foot ever so slightly - im guessing not more than a half inch or so. and recently when ive been mashing it in first ive been noticing it wouldnt spin the tires - it would just hook and go - not typical for my car. im thinking that the clutch isnt fully disengaging, and then as the car goes up in rpm's, somehow it catches fully and then goes. i thought my clutch was slipping - but even going uphill in high gear, it hooks fairly well and doesnt seem to slip at all. just first gear, low rpms. youd think it would start to slip at the higher rpms...

i did have the original clutch in the car let go at about 105k miles. the throwout bearing grenaded itself. clutch still grabbed fine though - but it did that strange engagement i think im experiencing now. low rpms it kinda slips, then the clutch will bring itself up/fully engage and itll go. the new clutch sometime has a throwout bearing chirp to it, but i was chaulking that up to the bad installers (local high school tech center) and it certainly doesnt chirp as bad as the scream the original throwout bearing did when it let go. im assuming i might have damaged the throwout bearing retainer with the first clutch, or the new throwout bearing might be going. either way the trans is coming down - which will be a real treat with longtubes in the way

any advice is appreciated. thanks.

i would def get an adjustable clutch cable also. it will allow more adjustment than the stock cable does, even eith the firewall adjuster

also what kind of quadrant is it? a double hook? i had a similar issue whenever i had the cable connected to the lower hook, i moved it to the hook furthest away and readjusted my cable and now it disengaes/engages fully

its a double hook set to almost the exact same position as the stocker was. i can dial in a *ton* of adjustment via the firewall (catches almost directly off the floor/catches only at the very top) and my friend has snapped 2 adjustable cables, so im just kinda iffy on doing mine. and its not like it doesnt disengage or engage fully - it does. something seems to be holding up the clutch fork and throwout bearing though from sliding all the way down and letting the disk contact the flywheel fully - until rpm's go up, then it slides the last inch or so to full engage.
