starting my pi swap. again!

Ok so after breaking a few valves and the headers not fitting, I'm starting back up. Quick question though.
The head gaskets- does L mean left looking at the engine facing front of car(passenger side) or Left side from the trunk forward sitting in the drivers seat(drivers side)?
Last time i had the L on the passenger side, and got a leak on the drivers side. I just want to make double sure.

Your left and right are always as if you are sitting in the drivers seat. Regardless of the type of vehicle it is, that is the proper way to tell the left from the right on any car.

Cool, yeah it looked like I was missing something. Waiting on a few more parts to come in and then find some one to help me time it correctly and I'll be in business! thanks for you help.

What if you have a transverse mounted engine..

I just always think "standing behind the rear of the engine facing forward", essentially the same thing.. hehehe

be carefull with those fuel injectors! the little rings on them are very easy to damage and hardly noticable to the eye, my buddy had to put on some new intake manifold gaskets on his 98 f-150 and when taking the fuel rails off 2 of them poped off the fuel rail and looked to be ok but after putting everything back on the 2 started dumping fuel into the engine and the scanner said it was the o2 sensors but it was his fuel injectors

Well! I finally finished the swap after long long time, moving back to texas and a broken bolt in the head. Now after its all put back together the brakes are locked from sitting so long. Soon I'll be able to drive it again.
