Intake manifold?

I have a PI intake kit from livernoise motorsport, someone had told me that I cannot get PI heads b/c I have this kit on there, that isnt true correct? He said something like it has an over sized rail on the sides that do not allow for upgraded heads, I think he is dumb, but I could be wrong. thought id ask

I don't see why not. If you install that intake on PI heads without the adapters, it should bolt on like it's supposed to. I think the platform for the plenum has been shaved for hood clearance which shouldn't affect the heads at all.

PI heads and PI intakes are stock on the other GTs. They work together...also 99392309 people on this forum are pi swapped and it all works for them.

theres a thread around here somewere on the pi swap

lol and you shoulda taken a picture. They probobly have good taste though

also the PI intake isnt any taller. Fits fine under a stock hood.....i mean no were close to being an issue

Livernois modifies their PI intakes that come with the Non-PI adapters for hood clearance (due to the extra rise from the adapters). A PI intake will fit under a stock hood with no problems when the adapters are not used.

If you're going to do the head swap yourself, I would wait until you have the cam's so you only have to do this once.

hmm...I will do that. I might just get headers and tune first, then go with cams and PI heads next. Good point^^ thanks. After these installs, the cams headers, heads, and tune I will be saving for forced induction..will be a longgg time but that will be my next mod to save for. Definitely want to go Kenne Bell, do it right.

Dang, every one of these threads turns into a classified ad. F***-it... I'm about to post my PI heads in the classifieds. They are '02 PI heads with 15k miles on them and CompCams springs for cam's w/up to .550 lift.
.
.
.
Got custom grind Kenne Bell blower cam's in 'em too.
.
.
.
Valve-covers included. LOL

I'd wait on the headers too , The easiest way(imo) to swap heads is droping the motor+k out the bottom , which would make headers a breeze !!!

Wow, I didn't even think of that.

Lilspanky, can you post a pic of your current intake please. The only intake you cannot use with pi heads is a svo intake. We just want to make sure that isn't what you have on there now.

You will have to watch if you put forced induction on a NPI motor with PI heads because it takes your compression ratio to over 10.5:1 a little high !!
