Considering the true color of the overlays from ford are blue, If you bought superbright RED led's then wouldn't you get PURPLE cluster lights?

Im about to purchase some LED's and do this myself this weekend, anyone on here do this to a 98 GT? Just making sure there is nothing different about the install ( I Doubt it ). Also which "white" did he use, the cool white, or natural white? My guess is cool white. If I do end up doing it I will post some pictures. Thanks for the write up.

I just did it on my 98. It took an hour for all 7 bulbs. Its so easy. A couple of screws for the gauge cluster and to connections to unplug in back. The only minor difficult part there was was having to take the radio out to undo the screw holding the center console piece in. I did it without unpluggung it and only sliding it out as far as I could then popping of the console pece and sliding my skinny hands through were the radio goes to do it. after that a few more screws for the hvac controls pop out the bulbs put the new ones in and bingo. turn on the lights and enjoy. Follow the write up that 97s281 posted on the first page (its really good and easy to follow). ALso get the cool white. It makes a really nice blue.

So does anyone know if the 2000s are the same?

i bought all 7 and it cost 32 bucks. They are $3.94 per bulb for cool white and shipping was $4.40 I really reccommend you do the hvac controls too. I did the gauges one morning before work and later at night when i used my lights ithe gauges looked awesome and then the hvac controls were staring at me with its ugly green lighting until i got up the next morning to do them too. Its not that hard

Yeah ill definitly do it, sorry I didnt send wingless pics, ill go out of my office in 10 min. and take some better pics and PM You. I think im going to do this within a week or to, looks really simple, and the finished product is awesome. Can you still dim the lights with the knob? that would be awesome

yes...dimmer works...nothing changes besides the color of the lights

they literally light up both lanes to the left and right sides of my car and a good 10 ft. back (coupled with clear fox body lenses from 50resto)

yeah after looking at steedas ive decided im gonna pull off my white face overlays. cuts down way too much light for my liking. didnt know it was gonna be that bad (did my leds after my white gauge kit) if you could share what gauges youve got on there steeda, itd be much appreciated.

edit: and the led dome light too - ive been looking for those forever.

there be a link to it. I re did the dash, hvac, and shifter tree on my auto, as well as added some ricer lights, but made them not ricer. They go on and off with my car's dome light so they look legit, plus they are outta sight so its all good.

thanks unsung. anyone replace the map lights as well? i see theres a ton of replacement for those style bulbs. not sure which one would look best, however.
