Question

SCT Tuner Questions!!! :)

I got my tuner the other day. I was just curious what would be a safe amount of timing to run. I am running the 91 octane tune. I noticed in the custom setting that my timing was set at zero. Maybe advance a little?????

Any tips on some good setting would be apreciated! Thanks!!!

NOOOOOOO

dont touch it.

First off you need to datalogg your car and see how much timing its running. Where you see it set to 0 is how far advanced it is from the tune on there already. Pretty much modifying the tune.

So lets say your 91 tune runs 21 degrees of timing putting it at 10 would be 31 degrees. Which you can say goodbye to the motor.

Datalogg the car.
Add 1 degree at a time and watch for detonation. If it detonates take 2 degrees out.

I'd add 2 at a time then take 1 out if pinging.

I'd also let someone who knows what they are doing do it or help you.

I see. So the custom tune already has some amount of timimg set for it. The user adjustable inside the custom tune would allow me to set a certain amont of aditional timing on top af the existing timing. I need to datalog to see exactly how much timing is there etc...

How about my A/F ratio? Would i want to make any adjustments to that? Is there like a sweet spot that everyone typically uses? Would i want to adjust my A/F accordingly as i adjust my timing?
