rear shocks help

So I noticed something when I replaced my shocks and had no idea on what to think.

Besides my two normal shocks in the rear I also have two mini shocks (literally mini, maybe half the size of normal shocks crossing behind the regular shocks. I will try to get pics up tomorro when its light out if this is too vague and confusing.

Anyone know what im talking about and can tell my what they are?

sounds like you have seen your quad shocks.

Do a google - image search on quad shocks and see if it answers your questions.

They cost about as much as the normal shocks, so you know.

usually people take them off once they do rear suspension upgrades, IE: control arms

I have bilstein shocks, lower and uper controls arms, full length subframe connectors, a heavy duty sway bar and a swarr bar. i took them off and have noticed ZERO difference in wheel hop without them.

Of course, once I took them off it was pretty obvious they were shot anyway so they weren't doing anything while they were on there.

Ive took mine off every SN95 that i have owned...

Don't feel too bad for this discovery. I drove my 97 Z28 for almost a year before I found out there was a cup-holder that folds up into the console on the passenger side.
