odometer repair help

so my odometer does not work and I know there are these repair kits out there. I was wondering if anyone has used them and if it is fairly easy. also i found on one site it says on fords with side by side odo and trip you will need two sets? Is this correct? This is the link

Odometer Gears and Speedometer Gears for Ford and Chevy

Thanks

ya... It sucks, especially when your gas gauge doesnt work properly either haha. I was about to buy the repair kit from latemodelrestoration but was looking around first and found that website i posted above saying you will need two of them to fix the problem. I bought another gauge cluster with a working one but when i put it in the gas and temp gauges are worse than mine
so now im thinking about just fixing my odo and trip but want to make sure i really need two before going to buy them

i would take a look at your speedo gear (on your trans) the aftermarket ones are notorious for eating themselves up and failing.

sorry - no personal experience with it myself. i dont see why you would need two kits, but best of luck with it.

A monkey could do it blind folded. Had the same problem. The hardest part is taking the cluster out

Same thing happened to mine. Remove the gauge cluster and get to where you can see the speedometer gear. It is probably shot. Go here and buy a new gear. Odometer Gears | 72 Croatan Road | Newport News, VA 23606 | 757.593.3478
