I think my fuel pump is shi!^^!ng the bed

Have a 255 walbro with a KB boost pump and I believe it's on it's way out.

Started last week on occasion the pump wont kick on right away. I have to cycle the key once or twice to hear it engaging so it would start.

Finally got a chance to run my fuel pressure yesterday.
Key on engine off, zero pressure
Key on engine running 30 psi w/ vac
Running w/ vac it bounces alittle under acceleration. Starts to increase pressure, then fluctuates between 28 - 34 before stabilizing at 30psi.
Running no vac 40psi

As soon as I kill the engine, psi drops to zero. What do you guys think? Pump?

I'm planning to upgrade my stock fuel pump to a BBK 255 to support my pi swap, do I need to buy adjustable fuel regulator too? Or keep my stock one I got now?

I would check the fuel relay first sounds like it could be that.

Problem fixed. Frayed wires in the harnesses for the pump and boost a pump. Probably happened from that stupid tire I hit at 70 a few weeks back.
