01 console upgrade

I got my 01 console today. Bought it on ebay for $85 shipped last week.
I installed it after I got off work. I was MUCH easier to install than the fox body consoles. I was lucky enough that it came out of a convertible so I didnt have to cut a hole out for the convertible switch, it already had the switch and all installed. Probably wondering why I changed consoles and reason is my car is a 97 gt that has the waste of space ash tray and I wanted the newer style with the 2 large cup holders.

I have been searching relentlessly on ebay for one of those and have never found one. Guess I missed it eh?

Yeah was the color off at all? I have been told that the blacks from 96-98 and the 99+ are slightly different!

No its not an exact match. At first I thought I would paint it black. But I went ahead and installed it because I was anxious! I used the black shifter bezel on the dark charcoal gray console so that broke up the contrast. I will get pictures tomorrow and let you guys decide what you think. I cant really explain how it looks. To me it looks ok. Reminds me of how the fox body consoles that were gray had the black shifter bezel. So I dont think it throws it off rather it flows together really.

Sounds to me like you need to get that digital camera on top of it now eh? lol. I'm with everyone else - the ashtray kinda is pointless for us non-smoker types... not to mention the cup holder! wtf was that? lol

I smoke but I dont use the ash tray. And the cup holder that flips out of the armrest is retarded and usless and fragile!

Does not look bad at all! But dude that UPR short throw looks longer than the factory one! BTW what color console is that and what color interior do you have?

I have black leather, the console is dark charcoal grey.
Believe me its not longer than the stock shifter. I had a stock shifter in the car
when I bought it.
The shifter handle is out of my 90 model LX thats why it looks so much taller and slender.
