What kind of mileage do you have? Depends on how worn the motor is. Stock motor can handle up to 425hp safely if I am correct. You wouldnt want to go more then 9 to 10 lbs of boost. There is plenty of kits depends on how much you wanna spend. theres Hellion, On3...you can create your own kit bit by bit (sometimes ends up being cheaper).

its a 97 with only has about 113,000 miles on it. and im looking for something cheaper, but i do not wanna lose quality at the same time. just the biggest bang for my buck so to speak. and i plan on buying the turbocharger and the kit itself separately. right now im just trying to find the right turbocharger.
oh and its not bone stock, so far it has a shift kit, 410 gears, off road h pipe, and a tune. running about 250rwhp Last edited by ponyboyy; October 22nd, 2010 at 07:24 PM. |

I have heard mixed reviews on on3performance most people love them, but others not so much. I have decided to go with them though when I buy my turbo. Seem to have a good quality affordable option from what I can tell I am no expert on turbos though.

cheap and quality wont work with a turbo car. You can't do a custom kit an on3 or ponydown kit will work. But Custom is the way to go.

please google the ebay turbo kits. youll find they arent quality parts. take another look at what you want to do with the car. its not as simple as slapping on a cheap turbo kit and calling it a day. youre going to need a tubular k member unless you run the ponydown kit. youre going to have one hell of a time trying to install a turbo kit. its not like bolting on a cold air intake. for what you want to do (max out the stock shortblock) a supercharger would be much more affordable, less of a maintenance hassle (youll notice the mach 1 on ride of the month removed his turbo kit) and make much more sense.
