adjustable clutch quadrant
What does the adjustable clutch quadrant do for the clutch? I know it's adjustable but does it give an lighter clutch feel? Have any of you had good or bad experiences with them?

The adjustable clutch quadrant is supposed to keep proper tension on the clutch cable and keep it in adjustment without any manual intervention. It's not something you adjust to change the feel of the clutch. Too much tension on the cable will cause the TOB to ride on the clutch fingers (same as you leaving your foot on the pedal), too little tension and the clutch will not be completely released with the pedal to the floor.
They're fine while they work, but they're made of cheap plastic, and it gets pretty brittle with age. I highly recommend getting an aftermarket aluminum quadrant with a firewall adjuster; I like MM's package because it uses a factory ford cable and I think multi-hook quadrants are a total gimmick.

Meh. I think I like they're firewall adjuster a little better, assuming that's what Ford Racing is rebranding (and I run the FRPP one on my 5.0), but the MM quadrant is better designed.

Agreed....steeda doesn't have a cable to write home about. They seem to fray a little and if you push your shit in hard (ie. spec 3+ or center force dual friction) then it will probably break on you sooner than later. I broke 2 in 6 months, went with a ford product, zero problems.
Plus the adjustable threads on the bottom for your clutch fork is un-necessary if you have a firewall adjuster. In all honesty, if you need to take more slack out of your cable past the firewall adjuster then your cable or clutch is done. |
