Remember we dont have that many threads. So you may actually be at the end of the threads. Take a cue tip and tape it to a pencil. Spray some wd 40 on the cue tip and go around the threads

If the threads were cross threaded the threads on the plug you removed would be screwed up as well.

i work for tires plus and we just had a customer do his own tune up. he now needs a motor lol. he didnt blow out the spark plug "hole" before removing the plug. there was a bunch of sand in the head and now it is inside the motor. he then cross threaded a few of the plugs. we were able to tap the head (on the car) and get the plugs in there (after spending a lot of time making sure we got out any metal shaving from tapping the hole) the car runs a little better but he has low compression on cylinder 2,3 and 4 and smoke from the pass side tail pipe. the sand messed up the ring seal to the cylinder wall (basically acted like sand paper on the cylinder walls). this is a very common problem (sand in the motor after doing plugs and also cross threading the plugs or even having a seized plug come out bringing the threads with it) it sucks man....... oh well just use it as an excuse to do an upgrade.... ported heads, pi swap, or even a 4v swap.
