Dorman Intake Manifold Q
Well my original 97 GT manifold finally cracked and im low on cash and time so i got a dorman from Autozone for $200 and i got new injector orings from carquest as i work there. Now it already has to drilled and tapped holes on the aluminum crossover so im guessing i dont need to drill and tap one obviously. Would this intake be a PI or just a NPI replacement with an aluminum crossover. and it should be just take everything off and replace with the new intake right? and do i need some black rtv for the job too? Thanks yall

A PI intake will have to be drilled and tapped. A npi intake will not.
You need to buy an intake for a 01-04

dorman makes pi and npi intakes. if you bought it from autozone chances are you have the npi intake (they asked what year gt, etc) theyre not bad. i ran a dorman npi on my car for a while before switching to the pi intake manifold. realize, however, that you probably couldve swapped to a used or even a new pi intake manifold for not much more money or work - and seen a bit more rwhp.

Yea i realize that and i plan to go that route in the future it was just im in college and i need the car now and didnt have time to wait on parts to arrive so i went the Dorman route

same reason i bought my npi intake back in the day - just needed to get to work and class lol. dont sweat it man, you can uprgade when youre ready. sharp car btw.

Thanks i cant wait to put all the mods i have waiting on it itll look badass. So do i need some rtv somewhere or is that only for a pi swap?
