Well in my experience with cars my parents wouldnt let my sister buy anything with more than 100K on it and that was two years ago. And also our highest milage car is our expedition on it with 131 and then mine wiht 122 and then my dads stang with 121 and then my dads truck with less than 3000 on the new motor ( the old one had 100 on it and was bad) My dad almost didnt let me get my car because of the mileage and now he wants to get rid of the expedition because of its milage!

my 97 explorer has 208,XXX on it and my wife drives it everyday, actually I drove it to FFW last weekend instead of the stang cause I had a few ppl that rode with me. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I would buy another one without thinking twice about it.

It's all a matter of how you take car of your engine. Trucks usually work alot harder than cars do as far as pulling loads. You haveto hit it harder more often to get it down the road compared to a car.
I use to change Town car engines out for a limo service here in the area, they wanted the engines changed out ervery 350K miles. Yes they were 4.6's and they ran great coming in. 3hrs later they had a new engine and back on the road they go and in my pocket goes $1,500 profit.
These guys new the price of maintinence, get the oil changed every 5000 miles and the trans service every 30,000, + tune ups. The 4.6 will go the distance if you allow it to, I have seen it many many times. But we also know our mustangs get driven alot harder, there 4 we needthat little bit extra if we want to see the miles out of our cars.

Sorry so long but you have to realize these are good engines, they just need a little bit of work.

108k high mileage haha

My 97 has 150k, and my Jeep has 160k.. and guess what? The 4.6 runs better, doesn't leak, and sounds perfect, the Jeep leaks, burns, and runs like crap half the time.

.. and people say that Fords won't last past 100k
