2 weeks ago we put in a new intake manifold, thermostat, water pump and serpentine belt and yesterday it overheated, steam and coolant went everywhere. any suggestions?

clogged radiator??? it is a single row, and it sounds like you handled EVERYTHING else that has to do with coolant so i would presume radiator. just grab a new one you should be fine.

how is it behaving? is it instantly hot? after a long drive? at idle? more info might help a bit

where did the coolant come from? A hose connection? The intake at a sensor? The intake gasket?

When you drove it after the install did you notice how the temp gauge responded? Do you know if the cooling fan was coming on?

And like SJ asked, did it over heat at idle or during hard driving?

I had an issue with the good old electric fan motor finally dying out after changing other stuff. Check to see if it turns on when hot. They are like 110.00 or so. Incredibly easy and fast to change out, 30 min...

The needle rarely even gets to the N now. It's a great investment.
