mass air flow sensor


i got a used mass air flow sensor and i wanted to mount it in the cold air intake..is there a certain position the sensor should face? i understand the flow direction but the angle that its mounted?

The angle won't matter, just the flow direction. However keep it as close to stock as possible cause I don't think the wires are long enough to rotate it much.

then how come when i turn it to the right a lil my car will stall when going around turns.....everytime

No telling. The MAF operates by heating a little coil and measuring the differance in volts based on the differance in temprature. It could be calibrated to sit in a certain position, but I've never heard that. For instance, many S/C, T/C and cold air kits move the MAF from it's stock location and it still works.

not to be a jackass, but why are you adding a different maf sensor anyway? and a used piece of electronic equipment at that. were you sure it wasnt messed up when you got it? you dont really need a maf sensor unless youve got some form of forced induction and are pegging your stock maf out.

to answer your question though the maf should be on the top of the intake tube.
