security troubles....

hey my names travis im an owner of a 98 mustang gt. 4.6l sohc.
my problem is that i got an updated security system but i kept the old one in so i can pop the trunk and stuff, well lately the stangs been acting up and posting a security code on my reader(theft code). the car wont start, im not getting enough fuel to my engine(i need 40lbs), theft lights flashing,(even though the car is unlocked...)ive tried about everything, i guess my question is " if i take the old system out will it cure this problem, and if soo, how do i go about doing this." any help would be more then appreciated. thanks

If you have 2 systems normally the aftermarket system will cause problems. What they do is use an extra key and tape it to the PATS transponder. Aftermarket systems have known to cause problems especially in the starter if its remote start.

on alot of the aftermarket ones there is a thing that is called "starter kill" basically what it is is the starter wire is cut in half and then wired up to a relay. when the system is armed it leaves the circuit open so that if someone tries to take off w/ the car while its armed they cant. When it is disarmed it is the opposite the ciruit is closed sending power to the starter. You should try putting it in valet mode so that you can at least get into the car and start it. By old alarm are you talking about the "Factory"? If you are whoever you got the alarm installed by should have bypassed, or even interfaced, it with the aftermarket.

yes its factory, i can get the engine cranking but it wont start because im not getting enough fuel....its weird, but when i use my programmer and go into tunning my fuel gage goes back to 40lbs (were it should be) but when the theft lights blinking it will only give me factory fuel level. i have the factory fuel pump in the tank and a external vortec fuel regulator to bring the pressure up to 40lbs for my injectors...i dont now what to do. if i could get it started i could bring it to the audio place that installed it.
