Fixing fool.

Hey guys,
Been busy replacing rear brakes, IAC valve. It was to far gone to clean again, so put one one for $52.00. And changed my sqeaking idler pulley. I just could not find the exact torque specs. for the pulley, so I went 20 ft. lbs. You think that's a good number ? Walt.

All you need to do is snug it down, no need to be exact on the toque of it.

Yeah, you don't have to be so exact with it because the pulley should rotate the same way that the bolts turn on so it's not like it will loosen up, it will only tighten.

Thanks for the reply. Still have a belt or pulley squealing after acceleration. Now I'm thinking that the tension pulley needs to be replaced ? Changed the belt about a year or more ago with a medium grade belt. I'll have to check it out later this week. Walt.

IF YOU SPRAY THE BELT WITH A LITTLE LUBRICANT WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THE SQUEEL GOES AWAY YOU NEED A NEW BELT. IF IT DOESN'T GO AWAY YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE ONE OF YOUR PULLEYS.
