The man is right. it's just a stock replacement. I'd go with the other 2 also and do with out the adaptor plate so the injectors are not so far from the intake runners.
Can you buy the intake without the adaptors? Might make it a little cheaper, I think I'd call them on that one first.
Are you also going with a different upper intake and throttle body to compensate for more air?
Yes you can buy the intake but this kit comes with pretty much everything you need. So you can buy just the intake but you will need the other things i have in my NPI to PI post.

Um... Intake runners???

Either way i would still tune it. I would say just get the kit if you have 500 to drop and install it youreself. With the adaptors. And then just give her a tune to open up some ponys.

Well...I will call on the Detroit Intake to see how much cheaper it is individually. If its a pretty significant diff then I'll just go with that but if not I think I'll just do the kit. ...and I might go with a bigger throttle body and upper intake to go with it also, havn't decided yet. I'm not really trying to turn my car into a hot-rod yet...b/c I still got some college to go thru...soo every little bit of money counts. If ya know what I mean. And later on I'm planning on gettin the whole PI engine swap. And as for the exhaust, Rich, I just got the factory exhaust with 3 1/2 angle-cut crome tips. Flowmasters later
