4.6 Keyway safe mode

I want all my pistons below deck for timing but which position is safe mode, is it keyway up or is it 90 degree keyway pointing to passenger side, why do they make this so confusing, two different people saying things is like starting to kill me.

This says keyway up

This says keyway 90 degree (giving more credit to it due to pics)

It's been a long time since I have done this but I 99% sure that the info on the second link is correct.

I realize this is a few moths old.

Both work. You are looking for a rotation of around 45 degrees either way from TDC. And TDC is when the keyway is at "10:30". So putting it 09:00 or 12:00 should work. You might be able to aim a flashlight down the plug holes and see that the top of the pistons are not all the way up. At least on a 4V that works.
