NPI Build

well guys I am coming to you for help. I have a PI motor in my car now and am swapping it for an NPI motor. Here is what I already know I will swap. I plan to go for a good nitrous/boost motor.

PI intake manifold swap
new gaskets all around
PI or a set of aftermarket cams price pending

any good pistons recommended? good set of rods? is it even worth touching the bottom end?

next question is can i use the harness with my NPI motor to use the coilpacks or just rip that shit off and use my COP harness?

If you still have your COP valve covers then you you should have no problem using your COPs and harness

That's what I was hoping would swap over. I think cop is cleaner than the coil packs. I got a npi motor with 46k on it so I'm just gonna do a little budget build while I still drive my pi

why are you putting a npi motor in? Whats the point?

No reason to mess with the bottom end on a npi motor. Its slow as ballz

Its getting. A full pi swap and all bolt ons before it goes in. New gaskets and such. I think its easier to build this motor on a stand than in the car plus with a full tranny and motor it was only 400

port the npi heads, cut the guides down, good cams, pi intake, and go. the npi heads are better flowing heads if you lift the valve .550 and helps with compression as well. any good name brand rod/pison would be good choice to get.

im looking at just building this as my my motor to learn on before I do my 4v.

I planned doing the PI intake manifold swap. what would lifting the valves bring my compression to about? how weak is this crank? Will I be able to get 450 wheel safely on a blower?

the valves dont effect compression. the npi heads just flow little better about .530 lift if they are ported right and cut guides. as for the cranks, cast cranks will do 600rwhp all day long no porblem as long as tune is right.

depends on compression and set up. the npi head is plauged with larger umbustion chambers, so a s et of flat tops would be a good idea to get compression up. also think about future, if you go to a pi head then compression ratio will change drastically.

I have a pi motor in my car now. This is being built as a boost motor so the lower the better for me.
