tire size for 98 GT
Hey guys, a buddy of mine has a 98 GT and wants to run the same tire/ wheel setup that I have. 17x9 with 275/40s in the front and 17x10.5 with 315/35s in the back. I'm not too familiar with the 94-98s but I told him I believe this setup might be a little wide for his car. (At least in the front) Any of you guys run this setup?

I have 255/40/17 on 17x9. I would not go any wider on front. I think the tire would stick out to far. Ill get a pic tomorrow if you want.

I have 275 and 295 on 9 inch wheels, but they were used so I didn't have a choice.
If I could choose, I would do 255, 265 tops with a 35 or 40 profile, and the biggest you can fit out back 305s or something.

I'm pretty sure 255s is as big as you can go up front and 315s will fit in the back just fine, worked on my 96 GT.

Ok smart ass I didnt read your post so settle down and your wrong about the 305s being the biggest you can put in the back so what. I wouldn't put 275s in front on your body style, to big, but you obviously know all, so whenever you see a post by this guy don't bother replying cuz he already posted the best info possible.

Damn he told you! HaHa! Thanks guys. I think he's gonna go with 315s and 245s on an 8 inch rim for the front.
