Finally got to a dyno ...
Well after 3 winters worth of mods I finally made my way to a dyno. Mainly because 'Bama wouldn't do a mail order tune because of my heads. I'm running a stock PI cam/springs and no UD pulleys. Future plans for the motor make buying either a waste of money.
For a car that started life with 215hp & 285tq at the crank, I think I did all right. Final #'s were 262rwhp / 301rwtq (SAE corrected). Car was tuned by Pete @ Performance Dyno in NH. He's a really great guy to deal with. Mods are in my sig.

looks decent but if you went the extra mile to put mmr ported heads why run stock pi cams??? seems like your leaving ALOT of power on the table in doing so...
edit: also how do you like your pacestter long tubes? i got mine for 150 brand new and they are going in right now |

+1 A good set of cams degreed in can give you alot more power out of those heads. What are these "future plans" you speak of? Blower? Nitrous?
I love your seats BTW.

I will be buying the MMR 900 stroked short block and going FI in future.
If you could buy cams for the 4.6 at the same price as a 302, I'd been all over them. But to pay 600 to 800 for something that would get pulled in 2 yrs isn't feasible. I hoping to put a KB ot Wipple on with the new forged lower end. 2 more winters. ![]() I figure with a good set of cams and udp's I could have pushed the 300rwhp mark. For now I'm pretty happy with how it's come along. These cars are complete dawg-ass slooo when they're stock.

yeah i agree on the stock being slow part... but you can get cams second-hand (doesnt have to be used) for 3-400. i just picked up brand new hi tech stage 2s for 400.
call me crazy but i dont think id wanna shell out a dyno tune price for a car running stock cams... i hope to be running what you do once im all done w/out ported heads. but i guess your looking at the grand scheme o things. which is good and saves money. but arent you gonna have to shell out for cams eventually anyway? |

I needed a dyno tune for piece of mind. Glad I did too, it had an AF of 18.
I also got a really good price on the tune. ![]() Yeah I'll get cams when I get the SC & lower end. I'll do some research on what on what's available at that time and order cams to match the SC, pistons for a 9.5cr or so, and new valves to gain some more clearance there too. I got my heads right when the TW heads were released. Another month or two sooner and I would probably have bought them. Then I would have had to buy cams. 97S281 ... The interior was the 1st mod I did. Being a vert, the inside is front & center. I chose the two tone over the stock all white. I think it fits great with the dash and door panels.
