weird wining sound from my 96 gt???? and ideas?

Lately i've noticed a strange wining sound from my 96 gt. its pretty much a stock car with cai, exhaust, and gears. the wine almost sounds like a quieter gear drive...thats just the best way i can describe it. I can't really tell where its coming from but its nothing behind the transmission. the sound decreases when i hit the clutch or give it gas, i notice it most when im just cruisin around or coming down from higher rpms. the sound almost totally goes away when i hit the clutch. i know its next to impossible to diagnose a sound without being able to hear it or even know where its coming from but if anyone has a good guess let me know cause i really have no idea

Could be the throw out bearing. Or something driven by the pulleys, start your car, take a long screw driver and place it on anything driven by the belt ( alternator, ps pump other stuff like that). Then put your ear to the screw driver and it acts as a stethoscope. You'll hear the noise loud and clear of it's something like that

My guess would be the throwout bearing since it goes away when u hit the clutch, mine started to a low whine then it just got louder and louder every month to the point where it was like a little girl screaming at the top of her lungs after a year of neglect. I just replaced my whole clutch system and threw on a new driveshaft and off road x pipe to go along now theres no more whine and alot more growl

shouldve seen my 100k mile throwout bearing when it got pulled. looked like barbed wire and some ball bearings - all of which fell on the ground when i pulled the dust cover.
