E85 benefits on a slightly modded stang
Just wondering if there is any performance gains using E85? Also what would be involved in changing over to E85? Is it possible to have both E85 and gas?
Thanks.

Put it in and it won't run. Or run very and I mean very poor. Cars that can run e 85 get 25-30% less mpgs

I had just recently rented a flex fuel car and it got about 400 miles a tank-full which did impress me. on my stang right now is about 12-14 mpg.. and that is with the snow performance meth kit. "less than 200 miles a tank"

can push a lot of timing due to the higher octane rating of e85. worth it to overhaul your fuel system and lose mpg ? probably not.

if its only a lightly modded car then the fuel pump and injectors and other fuel system stuff won't need to be upgraded. You just need a tune and not mind having 20-25% worse gas mileage. I usually got about 20mpg. When I was on E85 I got about 16mpg. You can add a ton of timing due to the higher octane though

I have an SVT focus fuel pump w/42 lb injectors, MAFIA, 75mm throttlebody, 80mm plenum,PI heads with comp cams 270's, PI intake, Powerdyne supercharger only @ 6.9 lbs (but will soon be 10 lbs with new upgrades and a snow performance stage 2 kit. I had originaly thought that the E85 would help with my very low MPG but I was wrong. This is not sounding like a good idea at all!
