tire pressure and a rear end clunk

Car has 275/40/17 on 10.5 wheel and 245/40 on 9" wheel. From experience whatsa good tire pressure for these?
2nd question. Have an occasional clunk from the rear end I think. Nothings loose back there and I can't do anything to make it happen. Sometimes when starting from a stop sometimes when turning. Or mybe during stopping. Never when hard on it though. Any thoughts?
