help me please!

I have a quick question for you....I just drove the mustang to tampa and back fine... Then, on a quick drive to my mother in laws, it started bogging at 3000 rpms... then the bogging got worse until it stalled and wouldn't start.... after about 10 minutes of pushing.... it cranked right up and the rpms screamed to about 6000 when I floored it and took off.... made it home just fine... it actually ran better! clogged fuel line? fuel pump going? fuel filter clogged? whaddya think?

ps.... its a 1996 gt 4.6

Fuel filter would be a good place to start

Check all your vacuum lines and air intake hoses. I had two cases where my care would not idle or would not crank and it turned out to be a cracked vac hoses, then once my air intake rubber coupling had loosened up and was sucking in air. Both were easy easy fixes.

Good luck.

I'll look at that too, but it felt like it was running out of gas.... I think I'm gonna have to go through it all.... I'll post some results when I'm done!

Well I've replaced the fuel filter and the problem seems to be gone for good.... The old filter was dripping an orangish goo that smelled horrible.... I also got to replace the the blower motor resistor so I have more than just a high setting for the a/c..... I then went to check the air filter and found the previous owner had installed a k&n...... cleaned that and then cut out the airbox in a fashion to create a homade CAI until I can afford to put one in! Been a great day working on the ride....

It's strange working on these newer motors..... the last car I built was a 57 plymouth..... every part I bought I had to find used and completely restore it..... I kinda like walking into an auto parts store and grabbin what I need for under $50
