97 Cobra, 33k miles w/light intermittent rattle

Hi everyone, great site!

Once the car warms up a little I can hear a slight rattle periodically towards the front. It taps for a couple seconds then stops, then a few moments later will do it again. It sounds more like hard plastic or thin metal being lightly tapped more than a solid metal thumping sound. I am hoping this is more likely an accessory pulley or something.

With the sound being periodic does that tend to indicate its not the motor?

Thanks!! Heres a vid, the noise is right at the very beginning for a moment and then around the 20 sec mark. Cant hear it real well but its there if you listen a few times.

The second video might be better.... you can hear it real well at 35-45 sec mark.

Ok I just took off the serpentine belt and the noise stopped. Any ideas? it sounds like its around the a/c, tensioner, idle pulley area

I dont understand though because it is a pattern. It will tap a few secs (5-8sec) then stop for about 10-15 secs then repeats and it doesnt change with rpms either way.

i would suggest trying the idler pulley first. sounds similar to a noise i had when the bearings on mine went bad. have you tried spinning the pullies by hand to see if theres any abnormal noise or are any of them hard to spin at all?
