digital wideband o2 sensor in pi swap


Why would someone use a digital wideband o2 meter in there car after a pi motor swap.Its a 96 gt with a supposed 02 pi motor swap,and t3650 tranny out of an 04.I dont know anything about mustangs past 1993.Thanks for any help.

its not really required but i guess someone would install a wideband for tuning purposes

As stated, it is for tuning. IF it has a datalog port then that is what he more than likely installed it for. I have never seen an N/A car with a wideband though.

More than likely he had nitrous on it and used the wideband to tune it rich for spray... That's the only reason Im going to have one. If he had a sc or turbo also but I doubt he'd be selling if he had that haha. If your thinking of getting the car, I would check the trunk under the carpet for the holes of bottle brackets, and not buy it if you find the holes haha.

I have one and im not boosted or spraying. but I do tune. IMHO how could you tune a car in good conscious without being able to see whats going on. its like driving with your hand over your eyes, or driving while texting, sooner or later something is going to happen. Then a big a boom.

Got it.I ended up passing on the car.Thanks though for the info.It was a real pi motor swap,But it had a weird knocking noise thats was coming and going.He said it was an exhaust leak.It wasnt,it was a banging sound.Anyway thanks again

Let me clarify the car with the knocking sound was not the car on the link,it was an another gt with a pi head swap i was looking at.That was suppposed to be a private message to another member.
