Theft Light comes on, but dont have an alarm on the car WTF

Ok long story short, i ran through 8 inches of water on a main road, (didnt see it) car drove fine all day, till at night the theft light came on, and car wont start. i dried the carpet out, and took out as much is i could, discon' the computer wires to see if their was any water in their, non.. theft light was still on, so i thought fuel pump went out, so i took tank down, and pump out, well this took me bout 2 days just cause i work during the day. well i disc' the battery the first day, and was about to put in new pump. but i wanted to try to see if theft light was out . so i turned key, and it was. so i never put new pump in, i put all the shit back up, and car ran fine for a WHOLE WEEK. now its doing it again, WTF. anyone got any clue. ive given it a tune up ( plug, oil, oil fileter, fuel filter). ive also put a DUAL dvd touch screen in this car. ive only had it for 3 months. its an 1998 mustang GT. 4.6. manual. sounds like the chip in your key is going bad...or the receiver for the signal is id have that checkd

Ok well i think ive fixed it. i recently had new keys made at wally world. .....well needless to say, the keys werent made right. the theft light only comes on when i use one of the new ones......

yea im pretty sure the keys for our mustangs have some sort of computer chip in them

lol well come to find out the new key is to big. walmart are a bunch of dumb ass's
gave me the wrong size.

wall mart cant make keys for our cars...they have to have the chip in them thats y your theft light is comeing on its seeing a key but not getting the signal from it

You have to get the keys from Ford! Then they will show you how to reprogram the computer!
