Couple Questions.
Hey all, ive searched and searched but id like a dew more opinions.
1. I was thinking could i slightly port and polish my stock plenum to remove the casting imperfections and make a little better airflow or is that a bad idea? 2. Could i use my stock throttlebody with the Stack Racing Plenum from AM or would that just be counterproductive? 3. Any reason it would be bad to have a steel throttle body/plenum spacer? I know all the others are aluminum i think. I just have some steel laying around and have decent fab skills so i was thinking of fabbing up a spacer and painting it in high heat paint i have alying around also. Thanks in advance for replys and advice in advance! |

1. if you are paying to get that done dont waste your money. You can find a bigger one at the junkyard for next to nothing. I am not positive but they can come off a f-150 and maybe crown vics? someone else will get the facts on which cars.
2. I would wait to do the plenum and throttle body at the same time if your getting the stack one. If your getting the junkyard one then go ahead. 3. it wouldnt be a problem using steel instead of aluminum. go right ahead. I myslef love fabricating things myself.

I would try to port and polish it myself at home i wouldnt pay someone. Id prolly get a plenum and throttle body from a salvage yard to do it on so if i screw it up its not my original. Ill wait on the aftermarket ones then. I was just trying to think of some cheap easy ways to make some extra ponies while waiting on the funds to do it right. I guess ill start on my spacer soon then. Thanks!

I have ported 3 stock plenums to 75mm, removed the egr hump and polished the inside with a wire wheel. It's not hard to do and imo is well worth the time.
