Washing

What type of clay bar system do you guys suggest? I need some new car wash concentrate as well! I have the turtle wax ICE and am happy with it, but I am open for suggestions on that as well! Basically what I would like to know is what products do you guys use on your stangs? Mine is kinda getting emmbarrassing to drive because it has had to sit out side for the last month and everytime I washed it, it rained and I couldnt wax it!

I have been using Armoral Gel (?), it's ok. I need to get a drying rag cause water spots suck.

dont use a clay bar unless ur getting out scratches. just use compound was and apply it with a power buffer on all the metal, and use a buffer with a sponge like pad to burn it off where theres spots the rest can be taken off by hand. once u do this once just wax it every 2 months or so.. o h ya i detail cars for a living

I have really hard water around here and i po's me to hand wash it, so i go to a self serve wash place and wash it and then spotless rinse it. by the time i get home, it's halfway dried of and i dry off the finishing touches to it. I've gotten really good washing it and i only spend 1.50 per wash

Use a clay bar for contaminents it does nothing for scratches for those you would need a real buffer not one of those things just for waxing and use a mild compound like finesse or I like meguiers diamond cut

the clay bar will help get out the impurities, but that meguiers diamond diamond cut is good shit specially when u cut it down with a buffer, after that the regular wax should build up the clear coat

I agree with the above. Also slightly stoopid and behievjer.

Mequiars makes really good car detailing products. Use the clay bar only to remove dirt from paint from the clear coat., its not going to remove deep dirt or paint imperfections. Please make sure you use a lubricant provided or a soapy water when doing this. When you are done with the clay get you a good high speed buffer and a good compound. Gives a deeper shine. Then if you have a orbital buffer and a good wax, do an even coat and take it off with a cheese cloth or a cotton tshirt and you will be smiling for days with your new car shine!

diamond cut is a compound not a wax....use the clay bar then use a real gental compound on it...if you have never used a high speed buffer i wouldnt do it then cuz you coul burn the paint...after the compound use a glaze and you wont have to wax it...most glazes have a clear coat protectant in them now days...

Matt sup bro. Dont do the highspeed buffer yourself, you will burn the paint. Check around some local detail shops or talk to someone that cleans up cars at a carlot and see what they would charge you to "wheel" your car for you. Most around here are around $100-$125 and its worth it to let them do it, they will polish and wax it also.

I am definatly not using a high speed buffer! I am just going to wash it, dry it, clay bar it, compound polish it by hand, and then wax it! lol it should be a long day! I hope I can get it all done before 3:30 when I leave for work! I think I am going to get up extra early on the first day of summer beack to wash and polish my car lol

Okay so Ill I got done today was the clay barring before I had to mow some lawns! And all I can say is WOW!! Its the best thing I have everdone for my cars exterior! It made the paint as smooth as glass! It only took me around an hour and a half to finish my whole car and it feels and looks amazing! Tommarow night after work I will polish it and see how that looks!
