Driving my car last night.

The car popped two codes.

p0135 - This code refers to the front oxygen sensor on Bank 1. The heated circuit in the oxygen sensor decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0135.

Any tips on fixing that one, were is that o2 sensor exactly?

p1405 - Differential pressure feedback sensor upstream hose off or plugged

I read online
"The Differential feedback pressure sensor is located under the hood on the drivers side.

If you locate your EGR valve you will see a tube going from it to your exhaust manifold.

you will notice 2 small tubes leading from the large one feeding into a small sensor....this is the DPFE sensor which is throwing your code.

Now....the DPFE "could" be doing its job by telling you the orfice in the tube is plugged, but the DPFE is known to fail on these trucks.....but it throws a code P401....

It may be a good idea to try a new DPFE sensor before a new EGR tube."

Does that sound right?

Any tips to help me fix this?

1. The o2 sensor is located on your midpipe. If you get under your car you will see where they go into the pipe. There is one on each side before the catalytic converters and one on each side after the catylitic converters. The front is the one before the cats.

2. the chance that your egr tube is blocked is extremely small. I would replace the DPFE sensor after checking to make sure the egr tube is not dented or kinked. It is a metal tube so if it hasn't been messed with by a previous owner it should be fine.

I copied and pasted off a 4.6 f150 site.

How hard are my front two to get at?

Is the DPFE sensor important? What will it do to my car?

Also thanks man.

the 02 sensors are very easy to replace, just unclip them from the wiring harness then use a wrench to screw them out.

Upstream are not that hard to get to either. Those are the two that control your a/f ratios and determine how your car runs. The two downstream sensors just monitor the efficiency of the cats.

Use a 7/8 open end wrench to get them off. They should come out pretty easy once you break them loose. Make sure to put a little anti sieze on the threads of the new ones when you install them. That will make removing them in the future 10x easier.

well the easy way would be to swap sides, back when my car was throwing codes for the upstream i just unplugged my battery, swapped the driverside 02 with the passenger 02, re-connected battery and waited for the corresponding code to come up just for opposite side. that way you know for sure its that certain sensor going bad
