99-04 dash in a 94-98

will it work? Ive got a aftermarket sterio that always shows the time, and I really dont care for the clock in the dash. well, that and I want a black on black dash so i can paint the plastic parts blue and it not look shatty.

Don't quote me on this. I dont think they will, speedometer is run electronically in '99-'04 but it may work do to the fact that there is NOT a speedometer cable going into the dash on a '96-'04.

If that makes any sense to you, it did in my head.

well, if done right. could I paint the dash? without it looking shatty anyway. i want an all black dash and console. the cream just isnt my style

you could if you take your time. They sell some interior panel paint. Not sure what its called but they have it at advanced auto parts. You can paint anything and have it not look like crap if you dont rush

Honestly just go to a wreckers and pull out a black dash, i hate rattlecaning stuff. Only reason is because it will probably fade and crack with time due to the sun. Unless you get UV resistant with UV resistant clear coat all for interior trim paint.

If you just want to delete the clock and get a black dash then get one from a 98. They didn't have the clock pod in the dash. Ford moved it to the radio for that year.

Yep my 98 does not have a clock in dash.

The actual dash will work from a 94-98 in a 99-04 and vice versa. You just have to use your harness, gauges etc. This winter Ill be finishing my 04 Mach 1 interior swap with the dash, all panels, carpet, new console, door panels and all. Everything except the cluster is interchangable. Remember 94-04 are all the same platform just different body work.
