might buy - 96gt, 64k miles, $5900

1996 Ford Mustang GT
so i dont know much about this variation of the mustang, except i hear they all need the performance improvement heads. im going to see if i can flat out trade my v6 for this one since the prices are about equal. im just curious on everybodys input on the car.

The outside is clean...not to found of the cloth seats and tan interior but hey its faster than the 6. And ur right they recommend doing a pi swap to enhance the performance

Very nice looking. Be sure to check the car fax. If I could do it all over again, I would by a mustang cobra trim.

Good luck with your buy.

if you hate tan interiors and manual windows i would give it a pass.

there is no point in buying a car just because its a good deal

Regardless of the condition I would pass on that car with the options it has at the asking price.

I agree..... I just picked up a 96 convertible with 96K miles for $2000 out the door (from a buy here pay here). Needs a little TLC, but otherwise runs great.

I know its the v6, but i picked my 96 up for $500. minor body problems except the front end. it was in a low speed front end collision . Wasnt hard to fix at all , and the frame was still perfectly fine, perfect cloth interior and 116k miles

I agree, but i'd have to scan the car's vin to see if indeed the "S" part of GTS appears.

What exactly is a Mustang GTS? To make it simple, think of it as a throwback to the old Mustang LXs of the pre-SN-95 era. GTS' came standard with the basic equipment that made a Mustang a GT. Customers were able to order GTS' from the factory with as little or as many options as they wanted. Options were also available at the dealer, on request of the purchaser.

My '96 gt has no power windows, no power locks, no power seats, no abs, no traction control and cloth seats. Just like a real car should have.
